We are currently working on and have undertaken and successfully completed a number of relevant major projects in recent years and references are available for each completed project over the last ten years:

Prolog Supply and Services Ltd has the resources, capabilities and experience to provide a wide range of supply chain and technical services within the African, European, Asian and Former Soviet Union regions. We are experienced in logistics and importation procedures throughout these regions.

Prolog’s aim is to improve efficiencies and reduce costs and has historically achieved at least 10% cost savings.

  • Proposal Submitted: identify, modify and prepare a warehouse for core storage including 1C integration for inventory control for Rio Tinto Exploration Kazakhstan
  • 2017-2022 Supply Chain Transformation Project with Kaz Minerals for their newly opened Bozshakul and Aktogay projects
  • 2016-17 Review and recommendations relating to supply chain management at Shanta Gold Mine in Tanzania. Corrective action was taken in several areas including procurement, inventory control, logistics, warehousing, ERP processes and warehousing.
  • 2015 ERP Implementation (SCM modules) and Supply Chain Lead, True Gold Mining, Burkina Faso – long-term.
  • 2015 Design of complete Supply Chain Policies and Procedure for True Gold Mining in West Africa, with supporting manual – long-term
  • 2015 Forensic Audit of Supply Chain for True Gold Mining in West Africa – Short-term
  • 2012-13 Supply Chain Management, change management and warehouse expansion for Newcrest Mining at Bonikro, Cote d’Ivoire, aimed at improved efficiencies and lower costs (overall direct and indirect cost reduction estimated to be approximately 15%) – long-term
  • 2009 Review of and recommendations for inventory and accounting processes at gold mining enterprise in Kazakhstan.
  • 1999 – 2005 Supply Chain management for Newmont Mining in Uzbekistan, Türkiye and Europe. Member of Global Supply Group for US, Ghana, Peru, Australia and worldwide.
  • 1998 – SCM review and report for Newmont Mining, Uzbekistan – short-term

  • 1989 – 1992 World Bank project to manage SCM during Ghana’s State Gold Mining Corporation’s divestiture programme, with the aim of minimising costs and avoiding unnecessary expenditure.
  • 2014 Long–term procurement change management project in Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine for Arcelor Mittal Mining including responsibility for procurement activities (annual spend $1.4bn) with the aim of reducing costs. The price reduction project campaign resulted in cost lowered prices of 12.7% overall.
  • 2010-11 Contract with Kazakhmys for purchasing services for assaying and laboratory services in Eastern Kazakhstan, with the aim of reducing costs.
  • 2009-10 Purchasing services contract with Rio Tinto for their exploration and infrastructure project in Uzbekistan.
  • 2008-9 Six purchasing and logistics specialists provided for 2 years to work at Canadian client’s site in Kazakhstan during construction phase of uranium plant expansion.
  • 2008 Implementation of a temporary manual purchasing procedure designed by us at a newly developed mine in Kazakhstan, to support the mine during its early stages. The procedure remained in place for several years.
  • 2006-2008 Provided in-country purchasing (tendering, evaluations, contracting) and technical services to EPCM contractor DRA South Africa for the Voskhod Chrome mine plant construction project, including design institutes, earthworks, construction, electrics and infrastructure, international and domestic freight contracts. Value $45m.
  • 2006-date Freight management contracts to and from worldwide locations including tendering for agents/forwarders and shippers, management of all aspects of freight movement and documentation door-to-door, Customs formalities at all points and advice and consultation.
  • Proposals for impending exports of ore and core samples from Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are under preparation.
  • Exportation of core samples from Uzbekistan to UK. Samples have now reached the laboratory in UK.
  • Ongoing logistics management services in Central Asia since 2018 for SRK Kazakhstan Limited.
  • Set up and management of Logistics Risk Management Team for Kaz Minerals at the start of the 2020 Pandemic and its subsequent effects.
  • Retainer-based logistics management services in Central Asia since 2019 for Kazakhstan Fortescue LLP.
  • 2019 Logistics Investigation and Report for Graphex Mining, Tanzania relating to ore shipments to worldwide customers.
  • 2017/8 Logistics retained provider for advice and import and export support for Iluka Exploration (Kazakhstan) Ltd.
  • 2017 Advisory project with Hatch Johannesburg for a new EPCM project in East Africa.
  • 2016 Logistics advice and importation support for Iluka Exploration (Kazakhstan) Ltd for importation of exploration equipment
  • 2014 Route Survey from Bishkek and Tashkomir to remote proposed mine site in Kyrgyz mountains.
  • 2012 Route Survey from Abidjan (port) to a remote mine in central Cote d’Ivoire for the shipment of heavy plant and equipment.
  • 2011 Freight management of containerised freight from Perth to NE Kazakhstan for new Australian-owned analytical laboratory.
  • 2011 Route survey from Kashgar China to Shambesai mining project in SW Kyrgyzstan.
  • 2010-11 Contract with Kazakhmys for the transportation management of over 30 tonnes of critical ore samples from Boshakul project to overseas laboratories.
  • 2007 Route and logistics needs survey from Inder (near Atyrau) Kazakhstan to a remote borate mining project in the Kazakh central steppes, with a review of rail freight services
  • Current 2024 – Supply chain support of BFS for Ferro-Alloy Resources, Guernsey & Kazakhstan
  • 2013 – 14 Long-term procurement and logistics project for Manas Resources during BFS and DFS preparation and in-depth analysis to reduce CAPEX and OPEX costs. Costs reduced from $70m to $50m.
  • 2006-8 Retainer services during setup, feasibility and construction period for Voskhod Chrome mine in Kazakhstan.
  • 2016 Rio Tinto Exploration London and Kazakhstan consulting relating to due diligence and tendering of drilling contractors, and other projects
  • Preparation of purchasing and logistics studies in Kazakhstan for strategic and IPO purposes, including competent-person sign-off letters for IPO purposes, for several materials:
    • 2011 Ammonium Nitrate
    • 2010 & 2011 Transportation and handling relating to Class 7 and nuclear materials, prepared and presented in Paris in summer 2010 and autumn 2011 (update) prior to World Nuclear Association Conference.

  • 2019 Sourcing and Cost Estimate for EMM SW/EW Plant in Botswana for Giyani Metals Corp.
  • 2009 Technical management of a remote long-term drilling program to ensure compliance with third-party design parameters.
  • 2008-9 Technical third-party inspection and expediting of locally manufactured specialised fabrications including 18 locally produced rubberised ion-exchange vessels for Cameco’s Inkai uranium mine. This project covered a 2-year period.
  • 2008 Technical review of in-pit crushing needs for open-pit gold mining facility in Kazakhstan: technical site review and submission of crushing plant recommendations, tender for approved plant, bid evaluation and recommendation of appropriate crushing and screening plant, negotiation and contracting for approved plant, logistics and installation support.
  • 2006-8 Retainer services during setup, feasibility and construction period for Voskhod Chrome mine in Kazakhstan.
  • 2006 Computerised Maintenance Management Systems review and recommendations for Inmet Mining, Spain – short-term
  • 1999 Mine closure consultant with responsibility for sale of assets at Inmet Mining’s Winston Lake in Ontario, Canada
